Elanco – educational campaign

Every dog or cat owner wants a long life and good health for their pet. We make sure our pet eats properly, we get it vaccinated, take it to regular appointments at the vet’s – all of these topics have been discussed for several years on our Facebook fanpages of the Elanco Poland brand (formerly Bayer Animal Health) - Pies fajny jest and Spokojnie kotku, as well as in articles on MojZdrowyFutrzak.elanco.com/pl/. But there are dangers, which pet owners are not quite aware of …

One of them is ticks. What do we know about them? Most often, ticks attack in warm weather. Tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme disease are a threat to people, whereas tetrapods are at risk of babesiosis. It turns out, however, that this is only part of the truth.

That is why, along the Elanco brand, we developed an extensive educational campaign under the slogan "Kleszcze nie biorą wolnego". The aim of the campaign was to make pet owners aware that - in the warm and humid winters - ticks can be active even all year round, and are also carriers of many diseases that are dangerous for animals - not just the most popular one, babesiosis.

Our task was to develop a creative concept and execute it. As part of the campaign, we designed key visual, and based on it, we created printed materials (including leaflets, posters, boxes, stickers, key rings, and materials for veterinary clinics). For the promotion on the Internet, animations, Facebook posts, and a special subpage on My Zdrowy Futrzak - "Kleszczowe ABC" were created. Posted on this subpage were expert articles that exhaustively discussed the topic of ticks and the threats they pose. There were also tick facts and myths, the most popular questions (FAQ), as well as an interview with the most famous tick expert in Poland, Marta Hajdul-Marwicz MD - doctor of medical sciences, specialist in biology and the author of a blog devoted to ticks. In addition to the text version, there is also a video interview, which complements the previously developed topics. We are sure the "Kleszczowe ABC" is the most substantive and reliable knowledge source on the Internet about ticks in the animal context!

At the end of the chain of associations was the Client's product - Foresto flea and tick collars, which are one of the most effective ways to protect tetrapods against parasites. The native advertisement of the product corresponded well with the educational tone of the campaign and engaged the audience.

Internet activities were supported by a three-month Facebook Ads campaign. The ads reached 5,601,021 pet owners!

The "Kleszcze nie biorą wolnego" campaign is the first such awareness-raising campaign, referring to climate change and its consequences - this time for our four-legged friends. At Veneo, we are keen to take on such challenges, because we are driven by curiosity and the desire to explore specialist knowledge. Being aware of just how many myths and how much false information are out there, we focused on a wise and factual approach and the support of an authority in this specific field of science.

The Elenco campaign was a yet another good project in our portfolio. A few factors contributed to its success – a well cut creative concept, perfectly matched tools, and consistent execution of the idea.
